Our Staff

Dr. Clemens

Dr. Lorrie Clemens has owned Woodside Veterinary Clinic for over 27 years after being the staff surgeon at a multi-doctor practice in San Mateo.

Her expertise in pet care is broad and deep, having been in practice for over 35 years and being a member of the American Veterinary Dental Society, American Association of Feline Practitioners and the International Veterinary Association of Pain Management.

Her goal is to provide excellent care of her patients along with great service for their owners.

Dr. Fischer

Dr. Camille Fischer graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1988, after receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Iowa State University.

She went on to complete the San Francisco Bay Area Rotating Internship at University Veterinary Hospital in Berkeley, Valley Veterinary Hospital in Walnut Creek, Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, Oakley Veterinary Hospital and Danville Veterinary Hospital. Her special areas of interest are geriatric medicine, rabbits and rodents, and infectious diseases.

In her free time, Dr. Fischer teaches music to kindergartners as a volunteer for Music For Minors, and loves to fold origami. She shares her home with her husband, two children, and three cats.

 Dr. Sophia Papageorgiou

Sophia Papageorgiou has worked with animals since age 15, starting out by cleaning cages at the Education department at the San Francisco Zoo.  She received her B.S. from the University of California at Davis where she double majored in Animal Science and Zoology and enrolled at Tufts Universitys School of Veterinary Medicine where, in addition to her veterinary studies, she worked on African Elephant reproductive research.  After graduating from veterinary school, Sophie spent one year in a small animal internship at the Southwest Veterinary and Specialty Center in Tucson, Arizona, focusing on emergency and internal medicine, and surgery.

Following her internship in Tucson, Sophie completed a one-year wildlife veterinary internship at the PAWS Wildlife Center outside Seattle, WA and was responsible for treating bear cubs, seals, bald eagles, deer, raccoons, and numerous seabirds, songbirds, and raptors.  She has worked for a number of small animal veterinary clinics in San Francisco and San Mateo counties and completed a Masters and PhD in Epidemiology at the University of California at Davis.

Sophie enjoys field research, traveling to exotic destinations, ice skating, dancing, and photography, as well as spending time with her kitties Baxter and Anakin who were recently adopted from the Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital blood donor ward.

Dr. Rivers

We are very pleased to have Dr. Rivers as our consulting radiologist. Dr. Rivers performs ultrasound examinations on our patients, and helps us interpret the x-ray studies we obtain on our patients.

Dr. Rivers graduated from U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. After an internship with Dr. Steven Ettinger in Los Angeles the following year, he practiced general small animal medicine in the San Francisco Bay Area for several years. Dr. Rivers then completed specialty training and a PhD in Radiology from the University of Minnesota, and became certified as a specialist in Veterinary Radiology by the American College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995.

After being on staff at two veterinary schools and a private specialty practice, he established his Bay Area Consulting practice in 1989.

Dr. Kienle

Dr. Richard D. Kienle graduated from Texas A&M University. He did his internship at the Sacramento Animal Medical Group, and his residency is at the University of California in Davis.

Dr. Kienle specializes in all areas of veterinary cardiology, but has a special interest in treating arrhythmias and congenital heart disease. In addition to routine cardiology services, like electrocardiography and echocardiography, he offers pacemaker implantation, Holter monitoring and other interventional procedures at his referral hospital.

Dr. Kienle enjoys playing bass, riding horses and dirt bikes in his spare time.

Kathy

Kathy took over the reception desk and has been an excellent recruiter of new clients, and a consistently happy face for all of our existing clients. 

Her previous experience includes five years of reception work over at San Carlos Pet Hospital, and it shows in her skill at handling the front desk. 

 We hope to have her for many years to come!

 

Tammy

Tammy is an RVT who brings with her 17 years of emergency and ICU experience.

In addition to over 20 years in the veterinary field, she also trains dogs and has a special interest in animal behavior.

Her love for animals is apparent in her home life as well, where she resides with her husband, their 2 dogs, and a flock of chickens.

Heidi

Heidi is motivated by learning and cares greatly for her patients.  In 2004 she studied Radiology for Technicians at CA UC Davis, 2006-2007:  Dentistry, Laboratory, and Clinical Skills for Technicians at Foothill College in Los Gatos.  In 2005 she traveled to Nevada for CVMA Veterinary Conference where she further honed her vet tech skills.  She plans to get her certification and become a licensed RVT by next year.

Danielle                                                                    

Danielle joined the Woodside family in March 2014. She graduated from Carrington College in November 2012 and shortly after became an RVT.  Danielle has always had a love for animals of all different shapes and sizes! She is owned by two cats, Simba and Jezebelle aka Tiny Bear. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her kitties, family, and friends.

 

 

Emily

Emily has been around animals her entire life.  During her 5 years with FFA she raised pigs, goats, sheep and steer.  Included in her background is 4 years working at Happy Hollow Zoo in San Jose.  She has been raising chickens, ducks and rabbits for the last 5 years and currently has 2 snakes and her best buddy, a German Shorthaired Pointer named Dexter.

 Anna

Anna Yanushkevich has been a vet tech for over 10 years everywhere from private practices,  to ER, to wildlife rehabilitation. She is in school for computer science and biology and in her free time teaches and performs aerial circus arts.
